Thank you for staying with us in our favorite destination in San Jose Del Cabo! We hope you have a 5-star stay and that it is amazing! Please be mindful and turn off lights and A/C if using them when you leave. We have replaced all lighting and appliances with high-efficiency items to help. The unit cools very down fast, and unfortunately, most of Mexico's energy is produced by coal and diesel, so please be conscious of usage. The grid is overburdened and there are rolling black-outs in peak seasons. Also, please conserve water! Having clean, running water is somewhat of a luxury for most of the people in Mexico.

(BSC is Mountain Time) If calling and there is no answer, leave a message, and we will get back to you ASAP! You can also message us through the booking platform you used. We have a local team available in San Jose along with our property manager is only minutes away!
ARRIVING:
The main gate remains open from 7 am and the security guard closes it late afternoon. The closing time may vary, but it is typically between 6 pm and 7 pm. After that, use the pedestrian gate to the left or the main gate to walk to the condo and get the gate opener. The pedestrian gate code is 3081#.
If you have not reviewed the arrival instructions, please see those first on parking and getting to the condo!
FRONT DOOR:
To unlock the entry door, touch the black screen to "wake it" and then two random numbers will appear. Tap on them in any order, then a full screen of numbers will appear. Now enter the code that was issued to you for your stay. Please note that this code is temporary and will expire the day you leave. If your plans change, we must know to update the lock schedule. When leaving, touch the screen to "wake it" and simply press the lock icon on the bottom right of the screen to lock the deadbolt. You will hear the deadbolt move. Make sure patio doors are locked as well.
KEYS:
On the entry table, you will find a gate opener, a pass for the car mirror, and a key ring. There are three keys with the first being the entry door, and the second and third keys are for the two sets of doors on the back patio. The patio closet doors on the west (looking left out to the patio) are all the beach equipment. The patio closet doors to the east (looking right out to the patio) are the washer and dryer.
CONDO RULES:
Only registered guests are allowed, no pets. No exceptions to check-in/out times unless discussed with the host in advance. No Smoking or Drug Use on the property. Damages will be billed to the guest. Guests should dispose of the garbage in the trash cans (located at front of condo complex). Please turn the lights and A.C/Heat off when not in the unit or a room. Quiet time is 10:00 pm until 7:00 am.

AIR CONDITIONING - THERMOSTATS:
Each bedroom and the living room has a thermostat for the mini-split system and are controlled individually. The turn the unit on or off, press the center power button. The temperature can be controlled by the up and down arrows on the right. The fan speed can be set to low, medium, high, or Auto by pressing the fan icon. The mode can be changed by pressing the "M" button, but typically you want this set to COOL. To save energy, the units will shut off after 30 minutes of no one being in the room.
WIFI:
There are three access points in the condo for WiFi. They are screwed down so please don't try to move them or unplug them! There is one in the guest room, master bedroom, and living room. When you connect, your location will be in Mexico. Some sites may not work in the United States for security reasons unless you connect with VPN.
Once you connect to Casita de la Playa Guest from your device, a captive portal will popup. Enter sjdc@bcs for the password and accept the terms of service.

TELEVISIONS:
Each TV is a SMART TV that has over 280 channels available in English. To use,simply power on and press the guide button on the remote or select "LG Channels" to see everything available. Press arrows to scroll up and down. Press the center button between the arrows to watch the program. It may take a few seconds to load. We also recommend TUBI, FREEVEE, or PLUTO for watching movies or television for free which are on the home screen. PLEASE DO NOT ADJUST TV SETTINGS OR ATTEMPT TO CHANGE THE NETWORK / WIFI SETTINGS. DOING SO WILL RESULT IN NOTHING WORKING DUE TO REGION LOCKS ON LOCATION.
WATER:
The small faucet in the kitchen is triple-filtered water with a UV light. Because the UV light is always on, the first few seconds of the water is HOT! Just let it run until it cools off unless you need hot water. It is for both drinking and coffee. However, you can buy bottled water depending on your comfort level. The refrigerator through door water has a reservoir that is filled on the inside of the door. Please also note that the hot water tank for the condo is small. If many people take long, hot showers, it will run out. We have not had a problem with two or three showers in a row or two simultaneously, but it can depend on the length. Please keep the bathroom windows in the shower open at all times. Lastly, do try to conserve water as it is a precious commodity!
KITCHEN:
Pots and Pans are in the pull-out drawer under the oven. If we are missing something you need, let us know! We try to leave some kitchen cleaning supplies and dishwasher detergent. If you use them, or they are close to being depleted, please do the next guest a favor and replenish them with the same quality products! Please be sure to empty and rinse the coffee pot before checking out.
EXTRA BED / Air Mattress:
There is a self-inflating twin mattress in the guest room closet on the shelf with sheets, a blanket, and a pillow. Please DO NOT jump on the bed! When done, please wash and fold the sheets, and put the bed back in the bag. (The housekeeper will not do this bedding.) If not washed or put away, there will be a $25 charge for the time it will take, so please plan accordingly if using the air mattress. This is provided as an extra free service if needed.
TOILETS:
Only toilet paper should be flushed down toilets. Please do not flush anything else, such as sanitary napkins or "flushable wipes." Mexico's sewer system is fragile. There is a toilet plunger in the front bathroom cabinet to the right of the sink if needed.
PLEASE NOTE: The housekeeper only puts 1 additional roll of toilet paper in the basket on the top of the toilet besides what is on the wall. If you have an extended stay, you will need to purchase your own additional toilet paper.
FANS:
The bedroom fans are controlled by the pull chain and the lights are controlled by the wall switch. The living room fan and light is controlled by two separate switches in the hallway.
LAUNDRY:
The washer and dryer combo is located on the back patio in the cabinet to the right when going out to the Patio. We try to leave some laundry supplies. If you use them or they are close to being depleted, please do the next guest a favor and replenish them with the same quality! We find cutting corners on detergents can ruin clothes or sheets. Also, we request NO bleach for the same reason as it is known to change the colors of fabrics. There are two retractable clotheslines on the patio by the gas grill. There is a steamer for wrinkled clothes in the master bedroom closet. Please be sure to empty the water out when done using it. Thank you!
GAS GRILL:
Please make sure the grill is away from the wall, so the white wall does not get blackened. The propane should be turned on and off after each use. Cooking utensils and two propane tanks are under the grill. If one tank becomes empty, please let us know, so we can get it refilled! If the tanks need switching, there is a combo lock that locks the grill and tanks due to them being left on the patio year-round. The combo is 1103. Please be sure to clean the grill and secure the cover when done using it, and make sure everything is locked up!
BEACH GEAR:
8 Beach towels are provided along with an umbrella, ice chest, two beach chairs, and a foldable wagon. It is a simple 7-minute walk from the condo. See our activity guide for more info! If you take the wagon, there is a cable lock. This can be used if you want to leave the wagon on the walkway instead of taking on the beach. Please use the LOCK provided. (Combo is 1103)
SHOPPING:
Both La Comer and Selecto Chedraui are very close and are equivalent of a Super Walmart with Selecto Chedraui being a bit nicer and upscale than La Comer, but both are great! Each store has groceries, produce, personal items, ready-to-eat food, electronics, and much more. Either place should give you "one-stop shopping." Cabs are available by Plaza del Pescador and in the front of each store, or you can walk or Uber. When you pay, your groceries will be bagged, and it is customary to tip the person doing so. There is also a McDonald's and Starbucks in the La Comer parking lot. There is also a Walmart on the "1" which is a few miles away.
TRASH:
There are trash and recycle bins to the left of the gate and a security guard when leaving the complex. It is picked up as needed by the association. Please help and recycle what you can.
BROKEN OR NOT WORKING?
Did something break or doesn't seem to be working? Please let us know as soon as possible! We want to make it right for you and the next guest!
LEAVING THE CONDO:
Please lock all doors and windows. If using the pass on your car mirror, we recommend taking it down once you leave the condos and put it back on right before arriving. This protects your privacy on where you are staying while driving around.
FINAL CHECK OUT: Adiós
- Please be checked out by 11:00 am, unless other arrangements have been made with the host.
- Empty refrigerator/freezer and food items from cabinets INCLUDING condiments and seasonings/spices, etc. (Note: Instead of throwing food away, you can bag up non-perishable and give to the security guard or someone else in need on the way out.)
- Take out trash
- Place used towels in piles on the floor in bathrooms. Beds will be stripped by housekeeping.
- Close and lock all Windows and Doors, including exterior patio doors for laundry and beach gear.
- Make Sure to leave keys, mirror pass, and opener in the entryway wooden bowl.
- Turn off all lights and A/C and lock the front door with a lock button.
